Juice fasting

im sure there's a receipe for this, i stumbled on to it just playing aroun

So I’m juice fasting now. Lots of negativity out there about juice fasting, but I’m the kind of guy that likes to see for myself! So here I am on day 4. 4 days without solid foods. I don’t care who you are that’s something. The real struggle to get started was finding recopies, or so I thought it was. The real knack to get started is just buying the dam juicer and throwing a few things in there to see whats what! I have researched recipes and such for about a month and have only used like 2 recipes. The thing is, you gotta taste the juice as it’s coming out of the juicer, because in my opinion it doesn’t taste the same juiced as it does eaten!

So by tasting (with a straw, almost like smoking crack…j/k, well sort of) each piece of produce as it’s juiced you’ll get a good idea of what is overbearing, what counteracts the other, and so on (e.g. 3 stalks of celery in my opinion is a bit much for the taste buds, but 1 green apple counteracts and you can hardly taste the celery).

Another thing for you 9-5 ers looking to start, i’d start on a friday morning. You can manage just about anything for a day, it’s day 2 and 3 that are going to have you easily reaching for that processed garbage. My mouth literally started watering when looking at grated cheese when cooking for the kiddos yesterday.

Oh, and speaking of cooking for the kiddos, you might want to let them know they are going to be fending for themselves for a couple of days (if you can swing it that is, obviously you can’t tell a baby that…they don’t listen) because when i cook…i taste, when i taste…i eat. SO, im still working this issue out, last night the boys had egg and sausage taco’s for dinner, i thought that would be least painful but to my surprise it was excruciating considering the sausage was something i made about two weeks ago with a new recipe. That really sucked, i didn’t even get to try it…after all the hard work i put into it the only thing i could do was smell it, and it smelled GREAT!

So, I was inspired by the movie Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. The movie is about Joe Cross, but who really inspired me was Phil Stapels that you’ll meet later in the movie. I don’t want to spoil the movie so go check it out on netflix.

Me and the ole lady have set out to do 60 days, and im not sure if we’ll make it, but we are gonna give it hell! It’s day 4, and im just starting to feel kinda o.k., my body doesn’t feel different, but im down 11 lbs and 1″ around the belly. Hopefully today i’ll feel good enough to exercise a little.

the hardest part so far has been trying to reason with my body that even though im not “eating” any food, im not hungry. The first day i must have had 20 drinks, and i was sooo full, but there is some sort of link that my mouth is saying, “hey, we haven’t eating anything today, wth?” That crunchy, yummy taste of anything is very missed, but im getting over the urges and i’ll keep ya posted

  1. I’d probably feel hungry all the time. I’ll stick to the Primal Blueprint. It’s working. Good luck on your juice fasting.

    • haha, im 6′-4″ 250lbs and a glass of juice does good on filling me up. Yea the primal will definitely be waiting for me on the tail end of this “journey” just more fruits and veggies and less venison.

  2. Terrific! I, too, am on day 4 of a juice fast. I’m going for 100 days. You guys can definitely do it!! Keep up the good work!!
